Click the "Getting Started" icon at the top of the list.
Your POP account is basically your account on the POP mail server.
In other words, type in your login name@pop3.eskimo.com. This needs
to be in all lower case letters. You can type anything you want in
the "Your Name" field. "Return address" should be your login name@eskimo.com.
Select the "Personal Info" icon.
The first three fields should contain the information you typed in in
the last section. Your "Dialup username" simply means your email address
without the '@eskimo.com' - in other words, your just your login name.
Select the "Hosts" icon.
The "POP account" should already be filled in here (login@pop3.eskimo.com).
The only thing you need to specify is the SMTP server, "mail.eskimo.com".
Select the "Checking Mail" icon.
Most of these options should already be filled in, or are completely up to
the user to configure as you see fit. Two things are important here for
our purposes. First confirm that the "Authentication style" is set to
Passwords. Also you should UNcheck (turn off) the option of leaving mail
on the server; many people have left this on not knowing that they've
inadvertently kept huge backlogs of mail on the server which could affect
the speed of downloading new mail coming in.
The first time you log in to retrieve mail, you will be asked for
your password. Use the same password you use for your regular Eskimo
account (not the one we assigned to you for 56k/ISDN or other access).
You can select (turn on) the option of saving your password in the
"Checking Email" selection screen (shown above).
NOTE: If you have a non-dedicated (real) SLIP/PPP account,
you may have a different password set for logging in via SLIP/PPP.
Your mail password is the same as your emulated SLIP/PPP password.
